Jianyang Liu

Jianyang Liu is currently a Chinese Ph.D student at department of medicine (Solna), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. After finishing his bachelor degree (major in biotechnology) in Tongji University, Shanghai, China, he continued his study in the University of Melbourne, VIC, Australia. After graduation, he worked in a hospital in Beijing as a research assistant. His previous research topics include: iron homeostasis in renal and neurodegenerative diseases, emotional aspects of cardiovascular diseases, etc. He joined the ArthritisHeal project in December, 2019. His own Ph.D project, entitled “Role of lipid mediators in pain in RA”, will focus on mapping the anti-inflammatory and pro-resolving actions of microsomal prostaglandin E synthase 1 (mPGES-1) inhibitors in comparison to Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in preclinical models of RA. Under the supervision of Prof. Per-Johan Jakobsson (https://ki.se/en/meds/research-group-per-johan-jakobsson; https://www.cmm.ki.se/web/guest/per-johan-jakobsson-group1), he will perform targeted and untargeted lipidomics studies using LC-MS/MS.
